My parents have been my number one fans since 1986. They are a constant support in my life and continue to inspire, educate and motivate me to pursue my dreams. Today I want to thank my mom, Jill specifically. She came from a family of artists (Google my legendary Grandmother Susan Peterson if interested) and introduced me to art at a young age. My mother took me regularly to the theater, supported my dream to be a ballerina, encouraged me to pursue my passion for the flute and enrolled me in art classes throughout my childhood. In 2008 when I decided I wanted to pursue photography full time, my Mom (and Dad) were always there for advice and helped me attend Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2011.
After being a Professor Emeritus of Theatre at the University of Portland for 35 years and designing costumes for over 250 productions, Jill has continued her artistic career as a fine art quilter. Please take a moment to view her work at www.JillHoddick.com.
We spent Mother’s Day at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Oregon and celebrated with a decadent brunch. My favorite part was the chocolate fountain with ripe pineapple and a make your own bloody mary bar!
