Irina, Shane and I have been able to build a strong bond over the last year and I am really looking forward to their beach wedding at the end of this summer. We photographed their first engagement session last winter along the Willamette River espionage in Portland, Oregon and their fabulous images can be seen here. Although we got some great engagement photographs, Irina asked if I would be willing to photograph them again now that the sun is out in Portland. I’m always up for a photography session with a fun couple so of corse I agreed! We planned on meeting at Council Crest park in Portland, but upon my arrival Shane & Irina were no where to be found. I finally got ahold of them and we realized they were actually at Rocky Butte Park and had accidentally told me the wrong location to meet. Of corse this put a wrench in our plans, but fortunately I was free for the rest of afternoon and was able to drive across town and meet them at Rocky Butte in South East. This is a prime example of how life throws you curve balls and you have to make do with what you have and it’s a great lesson for newly engaged couples and people who’ve been married for 50 years alike. Situations will ALWAYS arise, and you have got to get back up, figure out a solution, move on and make the best out of it! Although it was very windy and incredibly hot we persevered and created some memorable images at Rocky Butte. The backdrop of Portland, Mount Hood and beyond was breathtaking and I hope Shane & Irina treasure these images for years to come. Look out for their wedding photographs this September!
